It doesn’t really matter why head coach Brian Shaw is embracing a deep rotation because of his Denver Nuggets–it might be since the roster lacks a definite top eight, or it might be a signal the Nugs will use line changes to double-down on fatigue-inducing pace at altitude like a lot of Denver squads before.
What matters is that it is a wise idea.
“There’s likely to be 10 men at the onset of the season, will be two at each position, that’ll be in the main rotation,” Shaw stated, per Nate Timmons of all DenverStiffs.com. “Barring foul trouble or blowouts, 1 way or another, which will ascertain whether it gets deeper than that.”
The postseason remains a lofty goal for this particular club, mainly because there are 10 teams which look scarier (and have better name odds) from the West. All that thickness behind celebrities Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried could be enough to propel the Nuggets into a .500 record, but it could be a stunner when they finished the 2014-15 campaign in the conference’s top eight.
Many hands make light work, though, and Denver is going to use more hands than just about anyone this season. We are going to see when sharing the load pays off in surprising fashion.
